Cathi Mietkiewicz

Cathi Mietkiewicz is the founder of Mietkiewicz Law in Burlington. As its sole practitioner, she counsels regulators, associations, other not-for-profits; and retailers and operators in regulated sectors. Since starting her firm, she has supported them by advising on governance, government relations, regulations, by-laws, policies, and contracts in a cost-effective and practical manner. In addition, Cathi provides regulatory advice to health professionals and others working in regulated professions, including OHIP billing advice, privacy policy development, and the handling of data breaches.

Before starting her own firm, she practiced regulatory and health law in Toronto at Fasken, then at Steinecke Maciura LeBlanc.

She is regularly invited to speak on all aspects of regulatory compliance, ethics, and board governance. In the community, she served on the Board of Directors of Mohawk Shared Services, and currently serves on Acclaim Health’s Governance Committee. Her firm supports Special Olympians and has been a gold sponsor of the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.

Before entering law, Cathi had a career as an optician , and for nine years served on the Council of the College of Opticians of Ontario. She was awarded her J.D. by Osgoode Law School at York University.
