Demetra Dimokopoulos is a Paralegal at WM, North America’s leading provider of waste management services, with operations ranging from waste collection and disposal to recycling and renewable energy generation. She oversees corporate, commercial (small business), and litigation (Ontario and Quebec small claims) matters, providing legal support in both English and French to WM’s Pacific Northwest and Canada market areas.
Since obtaining her paralegal licence in 2011, Demetra has applied her paralegal and law clerk training both in the public and private sectors, in small and large law firms, as well as various practice areas including criminal law, commercial litigation, small claims, privacy law, intellectual property, and labour law. While working at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, Demetra served as a compliance officer with a focus on risk management and corporate compliance.
She is experienced in corporate governance. Since 2017, Demetra has been a member of the University of Toronto Mississauga Alumni Association Board of Directors and is a former executive member of the University of Toronto’s College of Electors. In addition, she owns her own health coaching business.
Demetra obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree from the University of Toronto, and was awarded an MBA by Copenhagen Business School.
