Jasminka Kalajdzic
Bencher Candidate
Jasminka Kalajdzic is an Associate Professor at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law, where she is also the Founding Director of its Class Action Clinic. She teaches Evidence and Class Actions, with a current research focus on access to justice and class actions. She is the author of two books, including Class Actions in Canada, and dozens of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Before joining the Faculty of Law in 2009, she worked for 12 years in private practice as a civil litigator in Windsor and Toronto.
Jasminka regularly makes presentations to the bench and bar, in Canada and abroad. She was the co-principal researcher and co-author of the Law Commission of Ontario’s Class Action Report (2019) and served two terms as a member of the Law Foundation of Ontario’s Class Proceedings Committee.
Jasminka has received two research awards and a teaching award from the University of Windsor. She is also the recipient of the 2022 OBA Excellence in Class Actions Award. In 2023, she was honoured by the Ontario Bar Association for her "significant contributions to access to justice."
Jasminka has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Ottawa, and obtained both an LL.B. and LL.M. at the University of Toronto.
