Karen Hulan

Bencher Candidate

Karen Hulan is a Partner at Beckett Personal Injury Lawyers in London where she works in the Plaintiff Injury Group.  She represents those injured in institutional settings such as long-term care facilities and schools, as well as many clients injured in car accidents.  A large part of her practice involves accident benefits and long term disability benefits claims as well as CPP appeals.  She has practiced personal injury law since 2003, including time spent on Bay Street before moving to London.

 

Karen is Immediate Past President of the Middlesex Law Association (MLA) where she has served as a Board Trustee for several years.  She served on all committees including Bench and Bar, Law Library, Continuing Professional Development, Administration, Mentoring, Social, and as Newsletter Editor. She is also a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA).  Before being called to the bar, Karen was a high school and adult education teacher, and draws on this experience to author papers and present on topics related to her areas of practice.  She has presented at OTLA, MLA and Canadian Defence Lawyers conferences and has been a guest speaker for Young Women in Law and Ontario Bar Association events.

 

Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts from Acadia University, a Bachelor of Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and was awarded her LL.B. by Queen’s University.
