Peter Wardle

Peter Wardle is a Partner at Singleton Reynolds in Toronto, with a practice focused on commercial and business litigation; professional liability; alternative dispute resolution; civil appeals; and securities regulatory litigation. Over more than 35 years, he has represented parties in disputes involving contract interpretation, shareholder and partnership obligations, directors’ and officers’ liability, and professional negligence. He has appeared before a wide variety of regulatory tribunals, regularly acts as a Prosecutor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons, and acted in a number of public inquiries including representing the City of Ottawa in the Light Rail Transit Public Inquiry. Peter is a certified mediator.

 

A former Bencher and current adjudicator with the Law Society Tribunal, he is a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Peter’s professional leadership has been widely recognized, including as a leading lawyer by Lexpert, including recognition a one of the 500 leading Canadian lawyers (commercial litigation); being ranked in several practice areas by Best Lawyers Canada; and named a “litigation star” by Benchmark Canada. Martindale-Hubbell designated him as “AV Preeminent,” its highest peer review rating.

 

Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University, and was awarded his LL.B. by Queen’s University.
