Stephanie Sutherland

Stephanie Sutherland is an Associate Lawyer at Cohen Highley LLP in Kitchener. Her practice is focused on assisting condominium and multi-residential communities, property managers, landlords, and unit owners with day-to-day governance issues as well as guiding them through disputes and legal proceedings that may arise. Among her areas of specialties are condominium litigation and development, landlord/tenant law, and not-for-profit governance. This has led her to represent clients in Superior and Divisional Courts, as well as tribunals including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Landlord & Tenant Board, and the Condominium Authority Tribunal. She has been designated as an Associate—then Leader, when the title changed—of the Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI) since 2015.

 

Stephanie is a frequent speaker at CCI events and a regular contributor to its publications. She is a Board member of the CCI Grand River Chapter and sits on several committees of the Grand River and Golden Horseshoe Chapters. In the community, she sits on the Boards of the Waterloo Region Law Association; Tri-Pride Community Association Inc.; and the University of Guelph’s Research Ethics Board. Stephanie is also a volunteer and foster parent for All Creatures Rescue; a former Board member—including a year as Vice-Chair—of the Guelph Humane Society; and a former Board member and President of Dunara Homes for Recovery, a rehabilitation program for adults experiencing chronic psychiatric issues.

 

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (BAS) from the University of Guelph and was awarded her LL.B. from Western University.
